This is a very small place, only seats 60 people -- so reservations are strongly suggested. It lies on on the sub-street level of a brownstone near DuPont Circle. The wait staff is attentive and the food is delicious and the portions are very generous and a pitcher of the house chianti was less than $30. It is not a place for a romantic dinner, or indeed a place for a business dinner. But it is charming. I like it for a warm winter dinner.Anonymous says:
I'm sure that Giovanni's Trattu is the authentic choice for all people. When coming here, you will be experienced a wide variety dishes in menu. The food is supreme and a lot of it such as Calamari, proscuitto, mozzarella, grilled eggplant, artichoke, olives, salami. Although the staff doesn't speak perfect English but they served every thing promptly and courteously as well as attentively. In addition, the price is reasonable, too. Great place and good value for money.
