Latest Traveler Review: My best friend and I went to DC for the weekend and we had no plans for dinner on Saturday night so when we walked by The Melting Pot, we agreed that it sounded like fun, so we walked in and made reservations for 9PM that evening. (I do recommend making reservations ahead of time because it looks like it books up quickly- especially for larger groups.) That night when we arrived, it was crowded, and it took a little time for the staff to get us seated, but that gave us an excuse to have their Blackberry Margaritas at the bar- the drinks were out of this world. Once seated, we were met by the friendliest waiter named Kyle. He was helpful making suggestions about what to order since we'd never been to a Melting Pot before and while he was quick to prepare our food and remove excess, we never felt rushed or unattended. He gave us clear, helpful directions about how to cook the food, and how to avoid getting burned. The restaurant also had good support staff to help facilitate the meal. We ordered the "Big Night Out", which is a four course meal, and after the fiesta cheese fondue, which was excellent, and California salad with raspberry dressing, also excellent, (both of which Kyle recommended) we were both stuffed, but somehow managed to finish the entire meal. However, the best part of the meal was the dark chocolate fondue. It was best spooned over the cheesecake, but the berries and fruit were very good too. Overall, I'd highly recommend this Melting Pot. It was clean, efficient, and very high quality. Since then, I visited a different location, and it wasn't nearly as good as this one.
