Latest Traveler Review: I was staying at the Marriot Wardman and decided to try this place. I had no prior knowledge of it. From the outside it did not look very crowded, but upon entering I realized that it was indeed packed. i had to wait for a table to clear before I could be seated.I was at a table near other solo diners, but the two tables in the window were occupied by groups of four or more sitting on floor cushions. There were little cubbies for their shoes beneath the platform holding the table and diners.I ordered the signature tuna tartare salad and it was wonderful. iI also had two rolls and hot and sour soup. The soup was not as good as soup I have had elsewhere, but the tuna tartare salad was absolutely wonderful. It was just the right mix of flavors. The rolls were huge and it was almost impossible to place a whole slice in one's mouth which was a bit awkward.The staff gave just the right amount of attention.The only awkward moment here was when I asked for a dessert menu but then decided to go across the street to the Open City for a slice of pie rather than choosing an item. The waiter seemed indignant and said "Just because we don't have cheesecake on the menu--yes?" I said, "No, not at all. I changed my mind."They offer a Sushi Happy Hour from 4 until 7 when all sushi is $1 per piece. That would be a deal as everything I tasted was fresh and delicious.
