Beijing is the capital of the Republic of China and is located in northern China, near Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei Province. The city is also a dynamic economic area as well as the nation’s political, cultural, educational, international trade and communication center. One important thing is that Beijing is one of the six ancient cities in China. It has been the heart and the soul of politic and society throughout its long history. The city is also China’s second largest city after Shanghai, with more than 17 million people in Beijing’s area of jurisdiction.
