Beijing is the capital of the Republic of China and is located in northern China, near Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei Province. The city is also a dynamic economic area as well as the nation’s political, cultural, educational, international trade and communication center.  One important thing is that Beijing is one of the six ancient cities in China. It has been the heart and the soul of politic and society throughout its long history.  The city is also China’s second largest city after Shanghai, with more than 17 million people in Beijing’s area of jurisdiction. In addition, the city is divided into 16 urban and suburban districts and two rural countries; the city’s urban area has about 13 million residents. The people natives to urban Beijing speak the Beijing dialect which belongs to the Mandarin subdivision of spoken Chinese. Beijing dialect is the basis for standard Madirin, the language used in mainland China, Taiwan, and Singapore.

In addition, there are hundreds of museums in Beijing such as National Art Museum of China, the Capital Museum, the Beijing Art Museum, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, the Geological Museum of China, the Beijing Museum of Natural History and the Paleozoological Museum of China.
